Furry Legends Nintendo WiiWare Producer Interview
Nintendo Games Center is proud to present our first ever interview. We had the opportunity to ask a few questions about the upcoming Nintendo WiiWare game Furry Legends to producer Lukasz Szczepanski. Hope you enjoy it…
NGC: What features and gameplay modes will be available?
Lukasz Szczepanski: The game will sport only one mode – the story mode. Players will be able to adventure through a number of levels, fight with enemies, resolve puzzles and jump from platform to platform for their lives! The game will feature great visual effects, beautiful landscapes, physics engine and a lot of random humor.
NGC: What did you find the most challenging aspect of developing the game?
Lukasz Szczepanski: We have created our engine from the grounds up, so technically wise, it was pretty challenging so far. The controls didn’t go easy on us either. We’ve had our share of issues with how to control the game. Nowadays the biggest challenge is to keep the art direction focused and to create a seamless and fun world. We’re going through playtesting phases where we collect feedback from various people and adapt the game to the players.
NGC: Where did the inspiration for the game come from?
Lukasz Szczepanski: The game was inspired by games such as Furry of the Furries and other games about cute fuzzballs. We’ve had some existing technology, and we’ve built our game on top of that.
NGC: What aspects of the game set it apart from other games of this genre?
Lukasz Szczepanski: The physics, the humor, the graphics. There are many elements new and different in this game, I guess everyone will find something for themselves, and see new solutions to old issues here. We’re very satisfied with the level of the graphics and robustness of the physics engine. I think the players will appreciate this too.
