GDC 2009: President Satoru Iwata Talks Future of Nintendo

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata’s GDC keynote reveals Link’s new portable adventure, Wii sales stats, console’s “complete storage solution” SD-card compatibility; Full Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks trailer inside.

SAN FRANCISCO–Three years ago at the 2006 Game Developers Conference, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata urged developers to “think differently” and disrupt the status quo. In November of that year, his firm did just that with the launch of the Wii. Insanely popular from the get-go, the console was nearly impossible to find at retailers during its first year on the market.

Punch-Out! Wii Gameplay Videos from GDC

The Game Developers Conference is taking place in San Francisco right now. We were able to get a hold of some gameplay footage of the upcoming rendition of Punch Out! for the Nintendo Wii. Below are some off-screen videos of Punch-Out! gameplay. You’ll get to see all four fighters that have been announced so far taking to the ring to fight Little Mac as well as a nice training montage featuring Doc Louis… Enjoy!

Nintendo’s President Iwata Delivers Keynote at the Game Developers Conference

This week is a huge week for gamers. The Game Developers Conference (GDC) is happening right now in San Francisco and besides E3 in June this is the biggest conference dedicated to all things games. This years GDC was going to be especially satisfying to Nintendo fans since its president, Saturo Iwata, was set to deliver the keynote. For months the rumors have flown about what he would announce. I’ve heard everything from a new Mario or Zelda game, to the Wii 2. Well, today’s the day and we’ve finally got the juicy details.
