Dead Space Extraction Nintendo Wii Updated Impressions

We head deeper into the USG Ishimura in our latest hands-on look at EA’s Wii-exclusive sci-fi horror game.

The bad news only gets worse for the USG Ishimura in the upcoming Wii-exclusive Dead Space Extraction from EA’s Visceral Games development studio. This platform-exclusive survival horror game functions as both a prequel and side story to the acclaimed Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 original. We’ve seen the game a number of times so far (most recently, at GamesCom 2009), and yesterday, EA dropped by with an updated build of the game to show off a new level and give GameSpot an exclusive peek at the first boss in the game.

Monster Racers Nintendo DS Hands-On Impressions

We rustle up some wildlife and go for a spin in this hands-on with Monster Racers for the Nintendo DS.

Pokemon is a hell of a drug. This may sound silly, but if you boil anything down to its simplest form so that it amounts to little more than advanced rock-scissors-paper, a thinly veiled plot, and the collection and training of mythical creatures, you’d have the very addictive Pokemon, which has carved a very profitable niche for itself. It’s no surprise, then, that while the formula has been tweaked and perfected over the years, other would-be contenders want to cash in on the success and get a share of the dollars. Enter Monster Racers.

The Legendary Starfy Nintendo DS Hands-On Preview

We tag along in Starfy’s underwater adventures in this upcoming platformer for the Nintendo DS.

Nintendo has another insatiably cute leading character in The Legendary Starfy, a platformer about a star-shaped prince who lives in Pufftop. Starfy isn’t new to the video game world; this is developer TOSE’s fifth game in the series known as Densetsu no Starfy in Japan. This rosy-cheeked and gregarious star is sure to win over the same crowd that adores 2D Nintendo platformers, and we were easily taken by Starfy and his band of merry underwater crustaceans.

Fight against a variety of sea creatures.
