Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes Nintendo Wii Q&A

Assistant producer Xavier Rodriguez discusses the upcoming action adventure set in a galaxy far, far away.

The swashbuckling adventure of the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated TV series is headed to a console near you in Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes, a new action adventure game that will let you play as either a lightsaber-wielding Jedi or a heavy-duty clone soldier. As a clone soldier, you’ll be able to lay down heavy fire and toss thermal detonator grenades. As a Jedi, you’ll be able to use force powers and even commandeer combat droids to ride them around the battlefield. We sat down with assistant producer Xavier Rodriguez for more details.

GameSpot: We understand that the game will offer two different sets of playable characters that essentially offer differing play experiences. First, let’s cover the Jedi characters–give us an overview of the action that players will experience as a Jedi.

Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues Nintendo Wii Impressions – Co-Op, New Movie Content, and Level Editor

We take an up-close look at the next Lego Indiana Jones game at E3 2009.

Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues is the sequel to the first Lego Indiana Jones, and will be a much bigger game with a lot more content. Like the first game, it’ll star a blockheaded Lego version of the globetrotting archeologist/adventurer as he explores and fights through Lego brick versions of all the exotic international locales that he’s famous for visiting. Among other things, the game will include a “retelling” of the content of every single Indiana Jones movie to date, as well as expanded co-op play and a beefier level-editing tool that will let you make fairly large levels to share with your friends. The game will also have numerous prebuilt levels as part of its story mode, though each level can also be played in Free Play mode, and in that case, the prebuilt levels may have different objectives.

Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron Coming to Nintendo DS

LucasArts’ action-oriented space opera games arriving to PSP, DS courtesy of Rebellion, n-Space later this year.

The Entertainment Software Rating Board hasn’t been as reliable as it has been in year’s past when it comes to inadvertently revealing publishers’ upcoming new releases. However, the industry rating board did slip up last week, listing the as-yet-announced Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron for the Nintendo DS and PSP with an E10+ ratings as well as fantasy violence descriptors of the lightsaber and blaster rifle kind.

Thunder thus stolen, LucasArts today officially announced Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron, saying the handheld title would arrive for the DS and PSP this fall. Rebellion Software has been tasked with the PSP edition of Elite Squadron, having crafted the well-regarded Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron for Sony’s handheld in 2007. LucasArts also confirmed for GameSpot that n-Space has been tasked with the DS edition of the game.
