Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Nintendo Wii Review

Posted under Wii Game Reviews

This bland, uninspired adventure will probably make your wrist hurt. Fortunately, it’s over quickly. This review reminds me a lot of the kind review the movie got. Actually, I think the movie received worse, and I wasn’t too impressed either.

Score: 4.5 / poor

Megan Fox on Video Games and the Nintendo Wii

Megan Fox in Transformers

Earlier, I had posted about Shia Labeouf bashing the Wii,  now, there’s another Transformers star who has mentioned the Nintendo Wii in an interview. If the picture or post title didn’t give away who it is, let’s say the person sounds much more adept and intelligent towards gaming, and is someone who’s picture I enjoyed putting on the site. Of course, I enjoy the picture more for the car as I’m a huge Camaro fan. In fact, the new Camaro in the movie is downright sweet!

Anyway, the star is Megan Fox. Megan was interviewed by WhatTheyPlay, and after reading the interview I hold a new found respect for the actress.

Shia Labeouf DISSES The Nintendo Wii

Shia Labeouf

Shia Labeouf was interviewed by Big Download. In the interview he talks about his history with gaming.

I’ve been a fan of Labeouf ever since Even Stevens. However, this interview just goes to show how arrogant the actor really is. Seriously, who is he kidding?

Here are a few quotes I picked out from the interview that any Nintendo Wii fan should find amusing…

(BD) – What’s the last game that really impressed you?

(Shia) – Sid Meier’s Civilization.

(BD) – You play everything including real-time strategy?

(Shia) – Buddy, I’m a gamer. Not just the fake ones you read about.

(BD) – Have you checked out the Wii Transformers game?

(Shia) – I haven’t been able to play the Wii game because my hand is broken. I’ve just been playing Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. I would imagine that the Wii experience will be like… I don’t mess with the Wii, to be honest with you. It’s kind of an amateur console. I’m not into the Wii thing.

(BD) – What’s wrong with the Wii?

(Shia) – This is how in a simple way you can find out if it’s a gamer you want to play with. Ask them if they have a Wii. If they say yes, get the f*** out of there.

I don’t think Shia would know what a real gamer looked like if he had one staring him in the face. Notice how he uses his hand as an excuse to not play the Wii, but he has no problem playing the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3.

Ghostbusters Nintendo Wii Gameplay Video

Posted under Wii Game Videos

The Ghostbusters have had a couple amazing movies and an awesome cartoon to boot. Something that, to date, only The Transformers have been able to pull off successfully. Now, the team are taking on video games. Personally, it’s always been a dream of mine to have my own proton pack with blaster. I think I even had a toy one as a kid if memory serves correct. Well, thanks to Nintendo and our beloved Wii, my dreams may finally come true. If you’ve been paying attention, and I like to think you have, then you know that Ghostbusters: The Video Game is written by Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis as a third installment to the film series. The original cast is returning to the film as well. Oh, maybe I should mention that the lovely Samantha Micelli aka Alyssa Milano is also going to be starring in the game. Yeah, things are getting serious. Thankfully, there’s a nice 3 minute gameplay video that I’m going to post for you below. Ghostbusters: The Video Game is being developed by Red Fly Studios, the crew that brought us Mushroom Men so I’m guessing we can count on it being quite good. At least, as long as we don’t cross streams… Enjoy!

Sonic Chaos on VC; Snowboard Riot and LOPNOS on WiiWare

Well, the Super Bowl is over. The commercials have been YouTubed and I’ve seen those talking babies about a million times. Although, the real shining point of the game came about midway through the third quarter when Michael Bay unleashed the teaser for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. I cannot describe how much I love the Transformers and what they mean to me, needless to say I’ve seen the trailer about 100 times so far. Let’s move on… This Monday Nintendo is giving us three releases. The VC is getting Sonic Chaos from the Sega Master System for 500 points, and WiiWare is getting Snowboard Riot for 1000 points & LOPNOS. The official press release with descriptions is below as is a video of Snowboard Riot in action.

Snowboard Riot™ (Hudson Entertainment, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone-Mild Fantasy Violence, 1,000 Wii Points): This snowboard racing and battle game can be enjoyed by multiple players and is compatible with the Wii Balance Board™ accessory. In an intense scramble for first place, guide your character down the slopes while snatching up items to attack and defend against rivals along the way. Up to four players can battle and participate in various ranking modes via Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection.

LONPOS (Nintendo, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points): Looking for a puzzle game that anyone can play, but still offers plenty to master? Look no further than LONPOS, with its straightforward premise and large variety of puzzles to solve. Each puzzle revolves around a rectangular playing field of 55 spaces. Using a set of 12 pieces, the goal is to place every piece into the playing field, filling it completely. The higher the level, the more pieces you’ll need to fit correctly into the playing field. Challenge yourself with two single-player modes or bring a friend to compete against or cooperate with. When you think your skills are worthy, use Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to check out how you compare with other LONPOS players or download additional puzzles and backgrounds. (Router and broadband access required for online play. For more info, go to www.nintendo.com.)

Virtual Console

Sonic Chaos™ (SEGA MASTER SYSTEM, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Play as Sonic or Tails in Sonic Chaos, which was originally made for the SEGA MASTER SYSTEM. Dr. Eggman (a.k.a. Dr. Robotnik) has stolen the Red Chaos Emerald to create nuclear weapons. This has thrown the remaining Chaos Emeralds off balance, causing them to transport to a parallel universe. As a result, Sonic’s home, South Island, is sinking into the ocean. Speed through various levels in your crusade for the six Chaos Emeralds. Perform Strike Dashes and Super-Peel Outs as Sonic, or Spin Dash and Fly as Tails, and restore order in Sonic Chaos.
